Teotihuacan...light bulb! (In Descipable Me voice)

The view from the Pyramid of the Sun, well one side of it. Absolutely amazing, the picture really doesn't do it justice.
The Pyramid of the Moon from the Pyramid of the Sun.
Pyramid of the Moon.
A little tunnel we crawled through..I'm pretty sure that it was some kind of drainage/sewage system but we felt pretty awesome crawling through a pyramid!
Me and some of the group from Tehuacan on top of one of the stairs, feeling pretty cool.
So I went to Teotihuacan this weekend with my group and also the group from Tehuacan. It was a complete eye opener, because Mexico has been pretty hard so far, but as i was standing on the Pyramid of the Sun it hit me that I was standing on top of a Pyramid in Mexico where I was holding my hands up to the sun, as is custom, and could see for miles and miles on yet another beautiful almost cloudless day. LIGHTBULB! I think that pretty much sums up the day. I also realized how amazing my group is, despite other people who seem to like to make my life miserable, my group is super amazing and we get along amazingly, and seeing the other group, though they get along, we were so glad that we had each other, our personalities mesh together so well and we are super close already. It is quite lovely.

So anyway, I guess I want to say I am so thankful to be having this experience, the good and the bad, I know that I will only come from it stronger, better, and of course more traveled...and hopefully more patient and compassionate. Here are some pictures from this weekend, though most ended up on Carly's camera, I should get ahold of them soon.

So first of all - Congrats to Katrina and Steve on the new baby! That is super exciting and I showed all my friends here how cute your family is and how cute my new nephew is! I hope that this summer I can come see you guys.

So things have been rough, as you all know, but I want to thank you guys for your support and emails and times I've talked to you and making sure that I'm still included in all the news in the states. Good to know that I have a great family backing me up.

I don't have pictures at the moment but when I get them off some peoples cameras I will post them. Things are definitely looking up, for the most part, definitely some things going on but as always it will get better. We went to a museum on Monday, Museo Amparo, it has a bunch of history about the Mayans and the Aztecs, it was alright, but really, I'm not that much of a museum fan, I'd rather walk around the city and have conversations with natives, much more enjoyable! At least we went on the free day of the museum (well that was planned) and didn't have to pay! Yesterday we went to this market in Cholula, the town right next to Puebla, which was really awesome to see, it is complete chaos with 1,000 vendors selling vegetables and clothes and random things and pigs head and chicken just hanging from the ceiling. It was cool to see a market that is set up for locals, it's not touristy at all, and it's only on Wednesdays. It was really really cool, pictures to come from that.

Classes are going well and my teachers are really amazing teachers, I'm so proud of them! I have a great group and we all laugh a lot and have a lot of fun together, plus there are some teachers that teach for another program, "Help!" and they are really super awesome, also, I'm glad that we have them there to hang out with! I'm studying my Spanish and TRYING to get better, but dang is it hard! I think maybe I should start e-mailing Aunt Kathy, Michael and Steve in Spanish! You just can't make fun of my grammar!

Well I hope I didn't bore you guys too much, more pictures to come!

Yet another cathedral in Puebla. We spent the day in the Zocalo in Puebla this weekend, next weekend I think we'll go to Teotihuacan, a pyramid near Mexico City.

They have some awesome graffiti!
Yet again! I LOVE the buildings here...from the ones with graffiti to the European styles.
Yumm. Cholupas, meat, refried beans and Mole Poblano..and I actually liked it!
I found Barbie's bug! ha. Just thought this was quite entertaining.
